Packaging Team Leader
In depth knowledge of Windows Installer concepts and packaging tools: Wise Package Studio /Install Shield / Softgrid. In depth knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to application packaging.
Analyzes customer application management requirements to determine appropriate solutions. Designs, authors, tests, documents and debugs application packages based on system and customer requirements. Maintains packaging, QA and verification workflows, lessons learned logs and other centralised documentation. Conducts mentoring and training.
Designs, authors, tests, documents and debugs application packages according to the customer’s standards, policies and procedures.
Creates application packaging test and development environments
Defines corporate packaging standards and strategies
Provides technical pre-sales presentations and general packaging consultancy
Provides metrics and reports to customers and management
Scope
Prioritizes own work and may provide some assistance to Junior Packagers/Packagers
Ensures quality of all packages produced by carrying out QA checks
Writes corporate workflows for packaging, QA and verification procedures
Creates and configures packaging environments
Provides training and mentoring
Leads a team of up to 10 application packagers
Provides metrics and reports to management and customers
Assists with performance and development reviews
Conducts Technical Interviews of new staff
Complexity
Exercises judgement with application/process exceptions
Manages projects of medium technical complexity
In depth knowledge of operating system, scripting languages
Proven ability to troubleshoot application packaging technical issues.
Understanding of application packaging lifecycle
Leads projects / teams of up to 10 people. Managerial Responsibility
3-5 years of experience in Application Packaging.
